New Listing – 2005 Vismara V46
Grabau International are delighted to announce the new listing of the 2005 Vismara V46 ‘DRAGON’.
Vismara 46’ is a design originating from the experience gained from designing and building the 45’ Miniseries, taking it further into the realms of “fast and easy sailing”, the main theme of the project.
The hull lines follow the very latest trends, seeking comfort and performance and featuring a rather limited maximum beam with a high “U” section, a significant “knee” under the water line and rather vertical topsides. This all works to create a symmetrical hull while the boat is listing and great stability in terms of form. The aft sections are very tight and low on the water to anticipate planing speed, even when under motor power. A soft passage over the waves is guaranteed by a sleek bow sections and a set back maximum beam.
The sail plan features a carbon mast with winged section, set on the deck with a 9/10 slightly fractional rig, and spreaders angled at 25°. The furled mainsail is housed in a lazy-bag, located inside the boom. The bow triangle is comprised of a 110 % genoa and a large gennaker, 160 sq m. This type of rig offers excellent efficiency and performance, simple manoeuvres and the possibility of a reduced crew for easier cruising use. The deck layout is extremely “clean” and simple: all of the lines run under deck inside pipes sunken into the sandwich structure and are then led to the stern, to the only two electrical winches close to the helm. In fact, from this position it is possible to manoeuvre the halyards and genoa sheet, while the mainsail sheet, with fixed point, is adjusted by means of a “Magic Trim”.
The deck has flush-deck hatches, an open stern and dual helm with integrated composite columns. While at sea, the carbon gangway is installed aft, as a bench for the skipper. The system for the anchor, which comes out under the hull, is a further evolution of the systems already used on the Vismara 78’ and Baltic 66’, but optimised for smaller craft, with greater reliability and easier use. The need to integrate fittings and structure, together with that for a refined, elegant and modern style both above and below deck, has led to research into the use of materials and colours that will create a warm, welcoming feel in an atmosphere created using composite materials, inspired by regatta vessels.
The furniture units made in painted composite materials are applied with “jointed” supports; the difference between the structure of the boat and the furnishings is highlighted with different colours. The interiors are perfectly symmetrical, with 2 stern cabins, each with a small bathroom. Amidships is the module for the engine room / entrance steps, for maximum concentration of weight, the galley – course plotting area – dinette are also symmetrical and linear, while in the bow is a master cabin with bathroom. The boat is built in GRP composite, vacuum impregnated with epoxy resins and baked at 65°.
