MY90 Navetta

A new project developed hand in hand with her owner in order to create a yacht with unique features combined together for unparalleled performance using the Vismara formula of: advanced composite construction = light weight = small engines = less fuel consumption & noise, which also promises great stability in rough sea, comfort, displacement range and safety just as a dedciated explorer vessel.

The MY 90 is an evolution of the Vismara 68 Navetta, in the design and construction approach, developing it in the theme “light sailing” with precise input of its owner, who demanded unique characteristics, not found in other yachts on the market: maximum performance at around 35 knots for quick passages, seaworthiness and comfort of displacement hull, range and security of an explorer vessel.

The medium-light displacement is obtained thanks to a construction with advanced composite materials and computational fluid dynamics programs for the hull design, all in order to reduce the hull resistance. It is also one of the first boats of this size with the reverse bow developed in military vessels to obtain a better penetration of the wave = more comfort while cruising in rough seas.

Extensive studies have led to an efficient propulsion through the use of ducted 6-bladed propellers and high skew rudders, all with hydrodynamic profile specially designed. With twin 1,400hp diesel engines, a top speed of 30 knots is possible and a range of 1,000Nm can be achieved at a 25 knot fast cruise, all thanks to its light weight. At 10 knots in displacement mode, the fuel consumption is impressively low and allows for extended cruising capabilities. The maneuverability is ensured by a modern system of bow and stern thrusters forward and backward or to spin the boat anywhere needed.

Aesthetically, the ‘clean’ style characterised by the large deck with solutions like concealed anchoring system under the hull, companionways and flush deck, retractable mooring bollard, hidden mooring winches, and raised bulkwarks to create safe guardrails. The design also features an unusually large flybridge, further adding to the sense of space and clean lines. The garage allows stowage of a 4m tender, while the other speed boats or jet skis can be loaded on the flybridge thanks to the long crane arm

Thanks to modern integrated systems and the electronic energy management for most of the functions it is possible to feed air conditioning and all other 230v facilities just from the batteries – a major advantage for reducing generator noise and ecological impact. For a further reduction in weight it is possible to use lithium batteries.

The interiors provide accommodation cor 3-4 crew members, 2 laundry rooms and aft storage with a seperate entrance. Guest accommodation is via 2-4 VIP guest cabins. The furnishing effect is rich and comfortable, as Vismara’s tradition, with sandwich teak panelling used also as structural panels and therefore very light.
