2021 European Powerboat of the Year winning design. Narrow semi-displacement hull form based on Nigel Irens design with mini-explorer boat/lobster boat styling. Offering class-leading performance, economy and comfort coupled with high-quality construction and luxurious finishes.

Combining some seriously clever Nigel Irens evolved hull design with ultra-modern and stylish finishes, the award-winning Silverfin from historic builder Buehler Turbocraft is quite unlike anything else afloat.

Powered by a single Volvo 220hp, the Silverfin is capable of circa 20-22 knots thanks to her narrow-form semi-displacement form, yet she can also cruise at 10-12 knots, consuming just 12 litre per hour, making her one of the most fuel-efficient yachts of her size and type.

With her mini-explorer yacht styling and a modern-plumb bow profile, coupled with a seriously bright and airy interior and large, well protected cockpit spaces, the Silverfin is a great option for all conditions.

    Her specification highlights include:
    • Nigel Irens evolved hull lines – narrow form semi-displacement
    • Fully-protected propeller and rudder skeg allowing safe navigation of shallow waters
    • Super-economical Volvo 220hp common-rail diesel engine with shaft drive
    • Bowthruster
    • Anchor windlass with stainless steel anchor and chain
    • Grey gelcoat topsides and superstructure finish
    • Flexiteak synthetic laid side decks, cockpit and bathing platform.
    • Aluminium T-top with extended bimini to forward and aft cockpit areas
    • Comfortable interior layout with double berth forward cabin and converting saloon table to create second double berth.
    • Zebrano-faced bulkheads, teak interior trim and white eggshell soft-touch matt surfaces
    • Carbon fibre cockpit table with twin cockpit settees/sunbeds
    • Sunbathing area to the foredeck.
    • Raymarine chart plotter, depth, autopilot, AIS and VHF
    • Fusion Blackbox entertainment system
    • Galley with gas stove, sink and front-opening fridge
    • Red night lighting internally and externally

The Silverfin is offered for sale as an ex-demonstrator, exclusive of EU VAT and with the balance of manufacturer’s warranties.

Silverfin is a new type of craft never seen before in the market and developed for owners expecting the best possible mix of design, comfort and experience. Halfway between a traditional lobster boat and a small explorer yacht, it offers the benefit of both types. Designed by a talented designer of super-yachts, Silverfin has an unmistakable and elegant silhouette that will turn heads wherever you sail. The minimalist superstructures, large glass surfaces and attention to detail deliver the same exclusiveness, feel and touch as a custom yacht. Silverfin is named after the shape of its hull. A sleek, slender and razor shape hull design that will bring you farther than any other motorboat of this size. This hull design offers indeed an outstanding stability and comfort in navigation.

Silverfin was developed to be the craft of all playgrounds: the layout offers an equal balance between indoor and outdoor areas and makes it the right candidate no matter your sailing area, in the Med, in the Scandic region, in USA, Australia or elsewhere. The semi-raised pilot station at the centre of gravity of the boat makes Silverfin extremely comfortable and secure to manoeuvre. It’s the craft of many applications!

Silverfin has outstanding hydrodynamic, range and fuel-efficiency performances. What makes it possible is the semi-planning hull based on the Long Thin Hull concept. It offers the benefit of a smoother ride than any conventional planning hulls and a higher cruising speed than any displacement or semi-displacement boats. With a top speed above 20 knots, it boasts more than 400 nautical miles of range at a perfect cruising speed of about 12-15 knots. It is a “true passage-maker” that has an unrivalled fuel-efficiency and more than 400 nautical miles of autonomy. It has a genuine ecological footprint that has no match in the market. Spend more fun time while other spend more cash at the fuel pump!

Silverfin’s extremely low fuel consumption makes it the perfect boat for both private owner with an environmental conscious but also all professionals operators looking for style, reliability and reduced cost of operation. Based on the same hull platform we can offer Silverfin in different layouts and levels of finish : luxury family day boat, luxury chase boat for yacht, premium hotel resort shuttle boat, luxury or regular water taxi, tender to explorer yachts, limo tender to yacht and megayacht.

Outside, the cockpit offers a lounge & dining area with retractable carbon table and fast mounting removable sun awning system and facing a practical central Buffet with storage for various use located above the Engine compartment. Forward the raised & well protected Helm station offers optimum safety & comfort at sea at the centre of gravity of the boat. Further forward, the cabin roof offers a nice elevated spot to chill in on a removable sun bed mattress.

Inside, the cabin Lounge & Dining area facing a fully-equipped galley with fridge and gas stove. The settees are convertible into a proper double berth. Forward you will find an elegant wet room with full amenities and facing a convenient small wardrobe and "card table". At the bow you will find a highly comfortable double berth cabin space to relax both at anchor and in navigation thanks to the very smooth ride of the semi-planning hull.

Buehler Turbocraft is synonymous with ground-breaking innovation, design elegance and quality. It has an outstanding history and pedigree. Launched at the end of the fifties the brand was the first ever to successfully introduce the unique characteristics of the water jet propulsion system. To prove its unequalled performance and safety, nine boats were sent to run against the powerful rapids of the Colorado River in August 1960, an extraordinary expedition recounted in length in the 1962 National Geographic article “Nine against the River”. The expedition was organized by the president of Buehler Corporation and G. Hamilton who was the designer of the jet propulsion system. A 90-minute video of the expedition was filmed. 60 years later, the movie was dug out by a Turbocraft fan and share with our team.

During the sixties, the brand quickly rose in popularity and became rapidly synonymous with elegance and innovation. Turbocraft became the choice of the rich and famous. The instant acceleration, the astounding manoeuvrability and clean lines of designers such as Virgil Exner (the famous Chrysler Automotive designer) instantly caught the imagination of the public. Its exclusive clientele included Jackie Kennedy who owned one for water-skiing. Video clips from the Kennedy Administration show John John Kennedy sitting on the lap of President Kennedy behind the wheel of a Jet 35. US Secret service also used Turbocraft boats for its unrivalled performances and ease of use. In 1962 Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the USSR, ordered one exemplar to be shipped to him but it was called back mid-flight due to the sudden outburst of the Cuban Missile crisis in October 1962.

Technological innovation and style is a cocktail that even M. James Bond himself could not resist to taste. In the 1965 movie “Thunderball” directed by Terence Young and starring Sean Connery, a 19-feet Turbocraft is used for a cameo role of taking Commander Bond back to shore with the beautiful James Bond girl “Domino” Derval played by the beautiful french actress Claudine Auger. The boat is shows in many scenes throughout the movie. During one famous scene Bond and Domino briefly discuss at the transom of the Turbocraft boat after Bond had rescued Domino while she was scubadiving in the waters of the Bahamas and had her ankle blocked in an underwater rock. After the success of the movie the brand aptly renamed this model "Thunderball" as a tribute to the movie and became a commercial success in the sixties.

After almost 50 years, the brand was relaunched through a new series of boats. Today, our company's mission is to the design, engineer and build of innovative, reliable and stylish boats. Our team is made of seasoned professionals. The design is the work of a talented superyacht designer. The naval engineering is mastered by Fortabat Design while the construction is led by BDComposites, engineers in composite structures and construction. Together we are dedicated to building crafts that are faithful to the brand's DNA of innovation and Style. Crafts that offer a unique design blend of modernity and intemporal classicism. This with an attractive price to quality ratio.
