    Designed as one of the very first Swans to be built with cruising in mind rather than racing, the German Frers designed Swan 46 model has proven herself over the years to be a fantastic short-handed bluewater cruiser as well as performing extremely well on the race course, winning the prestigious Rolex Swan World Cup in 1990 and the Rolex Swan European Regatta in 1992.

    ‘TRAMONTANA’ is hull number 46/096 and the 28th of the Mk2 hulls built between 1989 and 1997 by the Nautor yard in Finland. Benefitting from an extensive program of updates and general maintenance under her current ownership, she now offers a great opportunity to jump into a turn-key Frers Swan. Having the deeper 2.7m performance keel and the taller 3-spreader rig makes her a powerful high-quality yacht for fast but safe cruising or racing.

    RCD Status:
    • Our understanding is that the vessel is exempt from European Union Recreational Craft Directive as she was first placed into use within the EU prior to 16th June 1998.
    Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:
    • Hand laminated solid GRP hull, deck and superstructure using alternative layers of mat and roving with GRP/Foam longitude stingers.
    • Hull skin single construction.
    • Hull colour: NP 20000 white.
    • GRP sandwich superstructure.
    • Uncoloured gel coat below the waterline treated with epoxy primer from factory.
    • Structural bulkheads are marine grade waterproof plywood laminated to the hull and deck.
    • Replaced teak laid deck, cockpit seating and cockpit sole – 2012.
    • Hull treated, planed, faired, re-epoxied and re-laminated – 2016.
    • Anodised aluminium toe rail with midships hawse holes.
    • Upper blue coloured pinstrip.
    • Lower blue coloured pinstripes.
    • Hull stripes painted with navy blue Imron CF 166
    • Engine beds are of GRP with steel inserts.

    Keel & Rudder:
    • 2.70m deep draft option lead bulb keel.
    • Lead ballast casting with antimony with cast-in high tensile steel keel bolts.
    • Foam filled GRP spade rudder blade with stainless steel stock supported by 2x roller bearings.


    Engines & gearboxes:
    • Perkins Prima M60-39kw-53hp – 2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated direct injection diesel engine.
    • Cooling system with a heat exchanger.
