Grabau International is delighted to announce its successful sale of the 2002 Oyster 49 ‘VERITY’.
Rarely available Oyster 49 centre cockpit bluewater cruising yacht from Rob Humphreys, Oyster Marine and Windboats, boasting an extremely high specification and highly desirable forward centreline double cabin arrangement.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
With just two beneficial owners since new and in her current ownership for the past 14 years, VERITY is a beautifully presented and obsessively maintained example of the hugely desirable Rob Humphreys designed Oyster 49.
Delivered in 2002 as hull No.2 (out of 15), VERITY benefits from the twin queen-sized double berths arrangement (plus further twin bunk cabin) as opposed to later versions which incorporated a more simple v-berth arrangement. Of the five examples built with this luxurious forward cabin arrangement, VERITY also uniquely benefits from hull ports in the forward cabin. She also boasts the most stunning teak interior joinery with teak floors, offering a light, airy and neutral interior which is also extremely hard wearing.
Externally, VERITY boasts a full Hood rig with a fully-battened mainsail paired to a 120% genoa, Park Avenue style boom and twin carbon/Kevlar spinnaker poles. Lewmar electric primary winches complete the very easily managed rig setup.
VERITY’S specification highlights include:-
15m high-performance bulb keel
Fully-skegged rudder
Teak laid decks
White topsides
Fully-battened sloop rig with Park Avenue boom
Cruising chute and Code 0

Designed by Rob Humphreys and the Oyster design team and is a natural successor to the successful Oyster 485. With a longer waterline, more interior volume and a more powerful rig, she is a bigger yacht than her predecessor.
Popular among those owners who prefer the simpler handling and reduced maintenance of a 50 footer, the 49 offers excellent interior space, with six berths in three comfortable cabins, and excellent headroom throughout. Uncluttered decks and a generously sized centre cockpit make her simple to sail and a pleasure to liveaboard. Fifteen Oyster 49s were launched between 2001 and 2007.
We wish her new owners fair winds and following seas.
