Grabau International is delighted to announce its successful sale of the 2008 Vismara Marine V62 ‘MIYABI’.
Quite simply epic, short-handed fast cruiser from Vismara. Composite construction taking cues from the Volvo 70 class. Ultra-simple carbon rig with push-button sail-handling. Hugely versatile interior layout suited to large family or charter sailing. Ultra-practical telescopic keel. Her unique features run into pages, but her main highlights include: · Composite construction · Non-slip decks with teak in cockpit · Telescopic keel · Carbon mast with single set of spreaders · In-boom furling · Magic Trim for mainsail allowing push-button trimming · Electric winches · Furling genoa and furling code zero · Generator · Watermaker · Tender garage · Bowthruster · 4-cabins, 4-heads plus crew cabin forwards · Air-conditioning · Light and airy saloon
Sold by Grabau International to her current owner in 2017, MIYABI (formerly named MISS TUNG) is cared for by a full-time captain who oversaw a comprehensive refit and update that cost well in excess of Euro 400,000.
The electrical system was replaced with an oversized system from Whisper Power, including a new generator, lithium-ion batteries (with combined capacity over 1,000 amp-hours), two chargers, and a 14,000 watt inverter. It can run the air conditioning all night on battery power. All electrical circuits were replaced with Raymarine digital circuit breakers controlled by two 16” MFDs at the helm stations. The navigation systems were replaced with the latest Raymarine AIS, doppler radar, night vision, and MFDs.
BUILDER’S COMMENTS:
MIYABI is characterized by several distinct areas of development and design innovation: The hull is derived from the Volvo 70, with a high stability ratio and fine lines at the bow to ensure the most comfortable passage through the waves. The innovative stern hull sections, with edge planes, increase the dynamic waterline length, the directional stability and performance, including under motor, reaching a cruising speed of 8 knots.
Other special features include its carbon fiber composite construction and its large garage that holds a fully-inflated dinghy, gangway and luggage.
The modern interior layout gives more space than a standard 60-foot yacht. The galley forward, one step down, defines it from the saloon while keeping a single, open space spanning the full beam. The large symmetrical settees and central folding table allow plenty of room for dining and entertaining. The tinted skylight brightens the interior and gives spectacular views.
The saloon also has a trunk under the stove for a new generation of telescopic keel which allows the reduction of draft from 3.60 to 2.40 m while encroaching only 80 cm inside the boat. The engine is under the folding dining/coffee table, keeping the weight centered and the cabins quiet.
All cabins have en-suite bathrooms. The guest-cabin bathrooms are located aft to maximize privacy and further insulate the cabin from the garage and machinery areas.
We wish her new owners fair winds and following seas.
