Grabau International is delighted to announce the sale of the 2008 X-Yachts X-50 Modern ‘VIXEN’.
2008 X-Yachts X-50 with Modern layout, carbon furling boom and great all-round cruising specification. Lightly Used only in Baltic waters and with just two owners since new and less than 7,800Nm covered since launch.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
VIXEN is a gleaming and beautifully-maintained Scandinavian-owned example of the very popular Danish performance blue water cruising X-50. Offered with the desirable ‘Modern’ layout which allows for three good sized double cabins, plus three ensuite heads, VIXEN is ideal for longer periods aboard with family and friends.
Fitted out to a very high cruising specification, VIXEN’s highlights include:- • Medium draft 2.70m keel for optimum windward performance against practicality • Volvo 75hp diesel engine with saildrive and 3-bladed folding prop • Retractable bowthruster • White painted aluminium triple spreader rig • Carbon fibre furling boom • Andersen winch package with electric main halyard winch • Carbon helm wheels • North 3DL Marathon mainsail and genoa • Gennaker with snuffer • Teak decks replaced in 2013 by X-Yachts • Blue gelcoat hull • Teak interior joinery with leather upholstery • Upgraded gel batteries • 2.5kw Inverter • Efoye Comfort 210 Methanol 105w Fuel Cell producing 210Ah • Eberspacher diesel heating throughout • Tempur mattress in master cabin • Additional refrigeration • Raymarine electronics package including plotter, radar and AIS • TV with DVD and Bose sound system
Originally launched in June 2008 as hull no.47 (of 63 built between 2004 and 2011), VIXEN was custom-built for her first owner with a modified forward cabin arrangement, designed to provide a larger double berth (complete with Tempur mattress) and extensive additional storage in a corridor cabin between the saloon and the forecabin. A dedicated drying room is also located in place of the shower cubicle in the aft starboard heads.
Sailed around Swedish waters by her first owner, VIXEN returned to the X-Yachts factory in Haderslev in 2012/13 for fitment of replacement teak decks and then sailed to Gothenberg where she remained until late 2014 and her sale to her second and current owner.
Since 2014, VIXEN has been based in Stockholm and has been used for family sailing during the summer months only in the Baltic Sea with her winters spent ashore undercover. In total she has covered less than 7,800Nm since launch. She is now offered for sale to make way for a new boat.
BUILDER’S COMMENTS:
With her beautiful lines and open transom, the X-50 will turn heads while cruising under sail or lying on her mooring. Two independent steering positions provide added safety and will allow the helmsman clear view ahead, even with a full race crew on the rail. The X-50 has driver appeal, is responsive at the helm with maximum control and balance and she is very, very fast.
The deck has been kept clear of ropes by leading the mainsheet and other controls under the deck and coachroof on both sides to dedicated winches. The throttle and engine control panel are at hand for quite and easy manoeuvring into the marina and the elegant folding cleats are further examples of exquisite details that make the difference.
Below decks, the X-50 is pure X-Yachts refinement – from first grade teak veneers, laminated curved edges around the navigation station and pantry to teak floorboards with inserted décor lines – a yacht built to fulfil the owner’s desire for elegance. Details such as recessed seals on lockers, smart and practical door restraints, high quality seals on the fridge and stainless steel hingers are further examples of X-Yachts’ well-known craftsmanship and technical innovation.
We wish her new owners fair winds and following seas.
