Grabau International is delighted to announce its successful sale of the 2011 Catana 65 Custom ‘SELIKA’.
Full-custom Catana 65 bluewater catamaran with carbon deck, Twaron hull reinforcement, carbon rig and so on. Hull No.7 of 7 built.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
Custom built for her current highly-experienced owner, SELIKA is hull no.7 of seven Catana 65’s built at the French shipyard. Conceived for fast bluewater passages and offshore races, SELIKA’s construction incorporates extensive use of carbon infused structures to reduce her weight by approx. 5 tons over a regular Cantana 65. Coupled with her full high modulus carbon rig, carbon standing rigging and top-of-the range carbon laminate sails from Incidence, SELIKA has proven herself to be a formidable competitor, winning the prestigious Heineken Regatta in Saint Maarten and more recently, placing third overall in the Tahiti Pearl Regatta, just behind two dedicated racing catamarans. Her performance also makes her perfect for crossing oceans, with her ability to outrun and dodge weather systems coupled to fast, safe and relaxing passage times such as just 15 days from Galapagos to French Polynesia. Her Twaron (Kevlar) hull reinforcements also provide great peace of mind on those longer mid-ocean crossings. Below decks, SELIKA is luxuriously appointed with lightweight cored maple joinery and an ‘owner’s 4-cabin, 4-ensuite heads’ layout which can be configured easily to run with crew or without. SELIKA has however always been professionally maintained by a permanent crew. SELIKA’s specification and inventory highlights include:
• Custom-built carbon infused structures, reducing overall boat weight by approx. 5 tons from standard • Twaron (Kevlar) hull reinforcements • Synthetic teak cockpit sole • Carbon infused daggerboards • High modulus carbon fibre mast with carbon v-boom and composite standing rigging • Harken deck gear including electric winch package • Incidence Sails carbon sail wardrobe • Cutter rig with self-tacking Solent jib and Harken carbon furlers • Parasailor and gennakers • Lightweight cored interior joinery in maple finish • 4-cabins, 4-heads interior layout • Furuno navigation equipment with radar, plotters, autopilot and AIS • KVH Tracvision satellite antenna with Fleetbroadband 500 satcoms • 2x Onan 7kw generators • Isolation transformer • 2x inverter/chargers • Watermaker • Air-conditioning in saloon • Electric heads • Black and grey water holding tank systems • Washing machine • Dishwasher • 2x large capacity fridges, separate freezer and cockpit fridge • TV’s in all cabins plus hi-fi systems • Twin Volvo D3-150 150hp engines with shaft drive and 3-bladed folding props • Coppercoat antifoul system • Carbon infused bimini structure • Antenna arch at stern • Hydraulic davits for 4.3m tender with 60hp outboard • Diving compressor
Privately-used by her one owner and never chartered (although built to demanding MCA classification standards), SELIKA is now offered for sale as her owner has a new larger custom carbon catamaran in construction. Offered for sale exclusive of EU VAT and under a Gibraltar flag to offer maximum flexibility to her next owner’s plans, and with a replacement cost of circa Euro 4 million, SELIKA is very realistically priced to attract a quick and simple sale.
