Grabau International is delighted to announce the sale of the 2018 Grand Soleil 34 ‘ALAMARA IV’.
ALAMARA IV provides a fantastic opportunity to purchase a very lightly used and beautifully presented latest-generation Grand Soleil 34 with a great specification at a considerable saving of almost £50,000 over list price.
A very sleek modern design, the GS34 is ideal for either shorthanded fast cruising and/or competitive racing. ALAMARA IV in particular benefits from having the optional extra composite helm wheels and main sheet track just forward of the helm positions making her easy to handle whilst providing exhilarating performance potential. She has a fixed carbon bowsprit with her North Sails wardrobe controlled via her upgraded Harken Performa winches, German mainsheet system recessed under the deck for improved safety and cleaner lines, Code-0 tweakers and Profurl genoa furler. However, once she is safely at anchor or mooring in the marina she has a high-quality interior to relax and entertain in with stylish oak veneer joinery, white coloured hull linings and deckhead giving a bright feel and grey upholstery for some added style. The open fore cabin area can either be an owner’s sleeping area or a sail locker whilst racing, whilst a further separate aft cabin plus the saloon provides separate guest sleeping accommodation.
Her specification highlights include: • Optional composite steering wheels connected to twin rudder blades. • IRC-optimised fin keel. • Upgraded Harken Performa winches. • Carbon bowsprit. • German mainsheet system. • North Sails sail wardrobe including light airs sails. • Asymmetric spinnaker. • A Zero Asymmetric Code sail with tweakers. • Roller furling genoa. • Gennaker deck gear. • Dyform stainless steel wire standing rigging. • B&G electronics including a multifunction display and both cockpit and mast displays. • Black coloured vinyl wrapped hull. • Volvo D1-20F inboard diesel engine with a saildrive gearbox and 2-blade folding propellor. • 2-cabin, 1-heads interior layout. • Autopilot. • VHF radio with further handset in the cockpit. • AIS receiver. • Gas stove. • Refrigerator.
BUILDER’S COMMENTS:
“The mythical Grand Soleil 34, said by many to be a legend, was designed by Finot in the 70’s and remained in production for a decade. About 300 hulls were produced at the time. Today, past and future meet again in Cantiere del Pardo shipyard, where a new GS 34 is born. Taking the same concept of a small-big boat, the new GS 34 has an innovative form, as well as more space and comfort. In addition, she combines the finest quality of naval architecture and the best Italian design.
The project, inspired by the open ocean boats, targets those owners who love fun, sportive cruising and offshore racing. Skyron’s careful study, together with Cantiere del Pardo’s history, with 45 years of excellence in boat construction, have led the yard to design a Small Grand Soleil 34 once again. Her design and naval architecture process have been realized with great attention. The aim is to create an offshore racing boat that is both easy to sail at maximum performance and a very comfortable fast cruiser. The new GS 34 Performance, with an improved sail plan and appendages, has been designed both for IRC handicap rating in offshore races and for ORC. This way, the boat can be competitive in both offshore and inshore International regulations with a better rating. The new GS 34 is suitable for different uses: from windward-leeward races to offshore racing or cruising, she is a real all-around boat. Also, she achieves an optimal balance between upwind and downwind performance both in light and strong winds without compromising on comfort or easy handling.
Speed, style and elegance are in the new GS 34’s DNA, recalling the flagship GS 58 Performance family feeling.”
We wish her new owners fair winds and following seas.
