PALMA SUPERYACHT VILLAGE, previously known as Palma Superyacht Show, is an integral part of the PALMA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW (PIBS), the opening event of the Mediterranean yachting season, taking place from 28th of April to 1st of May 2022. It is one of the few industry-owned and operated yacht shows aimed to bring the visitor closer to yachting and offer any services a yacht owner might require, provided by trusted and well-established companies, in a relaxed but professional atmosphere.
Whereas PIBS is the hub for the latest shipyard presentations and services related to yachts under 24 m, Palma Superyacht Village displays a selection of superyachts above 24 m for sale and charter, as well as hosts an exhibition of nautical services available to superyachts. Within the dock-side exhibition, there is also a separate area dedicated to Refit & Repair, representing the many specialist companies that make the Balearic Islands one of the world´s leading destinations for refit and maintenance of boats.
Because of this, our islands have the necessary infrastructure to carry out repair and maintenance work on both small and large boats. In fact in Palma alone, more than 1000 projects a year are carried out on boats over 24 m, according to the data collected by the BALEARIC MARINE CLUSTER.
The exhibition is located in the Moll Vell area in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, right in front of the majestuous, landmark cathedral of Palma and the bustling old town with its restaurants, outdoor cafes and quirky boutiques. With its laid back, uncomplicated and fun atmosphere, the Palma Superyacht Village is the perfect place to discover yachting.
About WAWATOO IV
With just one owner since new, WAWATOO IV is an absolutely immaculate and very highly specified example of the ultra-competitive Swan 60 FD from Nautor.
Sailed for less than 2 months in total and with competition in just one regatta, she is barely run-in, yet offers a substantial saving over a new-build project. Thanks to her push-button hydraulics and electric winches, she is also equally at home fast cruising as she is racing, and boasting a 3-cabin, 3-heads white-stained teak interior, she is also supremely comfortable.
Based in the very centre of Palma de Mallorca, immediately adjacent to the various marinas and close to the STP shipyard. Within easy access are all of the Mallorca yachting meccas of with the islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera just a short flight or ferry away.
Grabau International Palma is headed by managing broker Lucio Pellegrini and naval architect Vittorio Papa and specialises in both sailing and motor yacht brokerage with a particular focus on the 50-100ft sector. Grabau International Palma is also UK and S.Spain agents for the B-Yachts range of Luca Brenta daysailers and weekenders and Balearics Concierge for Compact Mega Yachts and Ocean Quality Systems, Finland.
Lucio was born near the famous sailor’s area of Santa Lucia in Naples, just a few steps from their prestigious yacht clubs. Having started out his sailing career aboard his father’s yachts, he went on to work as a professional yacht captain and engineer aboard a variety of different yachts in the Mediterranean, taking in a diverse range of activities including competitive regattas, deliveries and private charters. A graduate in industrial engineering, Lucio went on to complete a master’s in Yacht Design at the University of Pisa as well as more recently a diploma in Yacht Brokerage from the Maritime Training Academy. A commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster, Lucio now calls Mallorca his home and enjoys year-round sailing around the waters of the Balearics.
Vittorio was born in a family of seafarers and yachtsmen. International dinghy sailing wins and experiences in Olympic and highly technical sailboats, fired out Vittorio’s interest for the science behind sailing and performance. He then went on to complete a master’s degree with top-grade from University of Naples and an MSc from University of Southampton in Naval Architecture. Before founding Spinta Studio in 2020, Vittorio was Senior Naval Architect for Hoek Design for seven years contributing to ground-breaking superyacht projects like Elfje, the J-Class Topaz and Svea, Meraki, the explorer MY Blue II among many others. In 2016, he moved to Mallorca to follow more closely the evolution of the racing J-Class fleet and other superyachts programs. Regular at most regattas and boat shows, alongside his involvement with Grabau International Palma, Vittorio is the founder of the Palma-based design & naval architecture company Spinta Studio.
Lucio, Vittorio and their Palma-based team will be delighted to meet with you aboard WAWATOO IV at berth M-408 in the SuperYacht Village during the show to discuss your yacht sale or purchase plans.
