Grabau International as exclusive European agents for Hylas Yachts is delighted to announce that the 2008/9 Hylas 46 ‘ADINA’ is now en route back to the UK and due to arrive in early June.
Loaded to the gunwhales with absolutely everything you could wish for or need for a circumnavigation, ADINA is the last word in ‘turn-key’ bluewater cruisers.
Having researched the entire market for a yacht suited to a twin-handed circumnavigation, her original owners settled on the Hylas 46 having read fantastic reports on their suitability for the job. As a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip, every option on the list was ticked to ensure that nothing was missed. ADINA therefore boasts an encyclopedic inventory which includes:-
• 4.5kw DC generator • Hydrogenerator • Solar panels • Watermaker • Air-conditioning • Iridium satellite phone • Preparation for SSB with Pactor modem • Copperbottom coatings • Bowthruster • North NPL Tour Norlam Xi laminate sails • Push-button cutter rig with electric inmast furling, electric yankee furler and electric winches • Full navigation suite including AIS • Large separated fridge and freezer compartments
Delivered at the end of 2008 as a 2009 model, she was lightly used around the Solent and English Channel ahead of her planned ‘big trip’. Sadly, a change of circumstance cut the plans short. ADINA was then sold to her current owners who have completed a well-documented circumnavigation starting in 2013 and taking in the Caribbean, Galapagos, Marquesas Islands, Tahiti, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, Madagascar, South Africa and back to the Caribbean via Ascension Island. ADINA is now being shipped back to the UK and is due to arrive in early June.
Yachts like ADINA rarely come up for sale. With the best part of half a million pounds invested in her commissioning and continued expenditure throughout her current ownership in terms of maintenance and upgrades, her extremely reasonable asking price represents an unmissable opportunity for anyone looking to take on an ARC, World ARC, independent bluewater cruising or simply comfortable warm-weather liveaboard cruising.
