Grabau International as exclusive European sales agents for Hylas Yachts are delighted to bring the first images and details of the new flagship motor yacht in the Hylas Power Yachts range – the Hylas M58.
From the board of Zurn Yacht Design, the new Hylas M58 will be offered in both flybridge and sedan versions. Measuring in at 64’7″ with her extended bathing platform, the M58 is a modern interpretation of the popular ‘Downeast’ style of yacht, so popular on the US East Coast and in the Mediterranean. Her hull form will offer fully planing ability thanks to her fine entry hull form and 16.5 degree transom deadrise. Depending on engine choice (there will be 4 engine options from Volvo, all with IPS drives), the M58 boasts performance of up to 35 knots potential in her most powerful twin Volvo D-13 1,000hp IPS3 engines and a 750Nm range at 30 knots.
Constructed with vacuum infusion from vinylester resins with Corecell core throughout, the new M58 will be both tough and light. Taking many internal design cues from the Hylas M44, the M58 will feature glass doors at the aft end of the deck house which will offer unrivalled sightlines from the aft cockpit to the forward helm station. As with the M44, the galley will be aft and with the lowering aft window, will create an ‘inside-outside’ counter space for cocktails and serving of food.
The sedan version will feature an expansive sundeck above the saloon with sun pads and in-built speakers, while the flybridge version will feature a second helm station protected by a venturi windshield and a bimini top. The flybridge option has seating for 5-8 people with a day bed to starboard and a refrigerator. A large propane or electric grill option to port. The retractable soft-top helps reduce air draft concerns for better bridge clearance but a hard-top option is available. There are skylights aft that let diffused light to the space below. Alternatively, a crane could be installed and the dinghy could be stored up top.
Below decks, the interior boasts two queen cabins with ensuite heads and separate stall showers. To starboard at the base of the stairs is a bunk room which could also be an office option or crew quarters. To port is the day head with stall shower. Forward of that is a washer/dryer closet and linen closet.
The new Hylas M58 will be launched during 2019 with a base price starting from around US$2 million.
