Hylas Yachts – Factory Update

As we move into 2018, our friends at Hylas Yachts are hard at work creating the latest generation of their legendary performance cruising yachts.

Hylas differs from many luxury yacht builders in that as soon as they launch a new design, they start work immediately on construction. Seeing shiny renderings and drawings at boat shows is great, but seeing the actual boat is much better. With this in mind, Hylas have four brand new designs in physical construction right now including:-

• Hylas 48 (Bill Dixon design)  – Now out of the mould and keel cast and due for delivery in July

• Hylas M44 Hull No.7 (Dean Salthouse design) – Sea trials completed and ready to attend the Palm Beach Boat Show in March.

• Hylas 57 (Bill Dixon design) – Mould now under construction with launch scheduled for 2019 including her planned debut at the Pacific Sail & Power Show in San Francisco.

• Hylas 60 (German Frers design) – Her vacuum-infused hull is now moulded, bulkheads and stringers and being placed, her keel is cast and work on the deck plug is well underway.

World-renowned as builders of genuinely hand-built luxury cruising yachts, Hylas Yachts are also keen to embrace tried and tested new technology where appropriate. Examples of this are the vacuum infused hulls of the new Hylas 57 and Hylas 60 and performance cruisers and also the recent investment in multi-axis CNC lathes which allows a level of accuracy and precision that would be impossible otherwise.

2018 is set to be another exciting year for Hylas Yachts and we will be with them at every step bringing all the latest updates and photos of these fantastic new boats.
