Italia Yachts – 2021 ORC European Champions

The huge number of entries for the 2020 Championship, which then had to be postponed, led to a change in the schedule for the event. The Organizing Authority decided to hold the Maxi Yacht races before the Tre Golfi Regatta, followed by the ORC races. Avoiding overlap between the events in this way, Capri Marina was able to host 30 more ORC yachts, bringing the maximum number of entries to 100. The 2021 ORC European Championship began with the offshore race in the form of the 66th Regata dei Tre Golfi, which started in Naples on Saturday, May 15. The Tre Golfi finished in Capri, where three days of inshore racing began on Tuesday, May 18 and ended on Thursday, May 20.

As with previous years, the Italia Yachts Squadra Corse team swept the board in ORC Class C with overall first and second places for the Italia Yachts 11.98’s ‘SCUGNIZZA’ of Vincenzo De Blasio and ‘SUGAR 3’ of Ott Kikkas. Also competing in the regatta were the Italia Yachts 11.98’s ‘GUARDAMAGO II’ of Piparo Massimo and ‘BELLATRIX’ of Roberto Fiorentini and the Italia Yachts 9.98 ‘LOW NOISE II’ of Luigi Dabove.
