Judel/Vrolijk designed Baltic 43 with vacuum-infused epoxy hull & deck and custom epoxy/carbon rudder. An iconic design and capable of everything from crossing oceans to sailing around the cans. Few are built better.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
DIVA is a very special example of the Judel Volijk & R J Designs Baltic 43. Launched in 1988 as hull No.28 for a Hamburg-based couple who used her almost exclusively for daysailing, DIVA was constructed using the optional vacuum-infused epoxy hull and deck, saving approx. 300kgs over a standard Baltic 43. She also benefitted from a custom epoxy performance rudder with carbon fibre rudder stock. Reckmann rig with low-friction battencars, and internally, a custom interior with twin staterooms, twin heads and a fantastic saloon arrangement with u-shaped settee seating to port.
Having been very lightly used by her first owners, DIVA was sold in 2010 to her second owner, also based in Hamburg who continued to enjoy summer sailing in the Southern Baltic, storing the boat ashore and undercover each winter. Since 2020, DIVA has remained ashore rig-out and undercover, and now awaits her third owner.
Largely original thanks to her extremely light use, winter storage and loving care and attention, her interior presents in extremely good condition and DIVA therefore represents a unique opportunity to acquire an unspoilt ‘modern classic’ Baltic, ready to sail as she is, or with minor updates to modernise her systems.
DIVA’s specification highlights include:- • Vacuum-infused epoxy hull and deck construction (saving approx. 300kgs over standard GRP Baltic 43 construction) • Speedwave-Magg rudder epoxy rudder with carbon stock • Custom 2-cabin, 2-heads layout with U-shaped saloon seating • Teak interior joinery in fantastic condition • Eberspacher diesel fired cabin heating • Electric aft heads with holding tank • B&G instruments with mast-repeaters • Icom VHF and SSB with Pactor modem • Stainless steel rod standing rigging replaced 2011 • Reckman rig with low-friction Antal mast track • Hydraulic backstay and vang adjuster • Lewmar self-tailing winches with 3-speed primary winches • Symmetrical spinnaker
Largely original thanks to her extremely light use, winter storage and loving care and attention, her interior presents in remarkable condition and DIVA therefore represents a unique opportunity to acquire an unspoilt ‘modern classic’ Baltic, ready to sail as she is, or with minor updates to modernise her systems.
MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:
Baltic 43 was the second serial production model where we cooperated with Judel/Vrolijk as Naval Architects. Judel/Vrolijk had at this time been successful on the racing scene with similar sizes of yachts including Admiral Cup contenders like Container.
The Baltic 43 was developed using experience from these successful racing projects combined with Baltic Yachts´ known capability in building light constructions. Detailed weight studies were carried out in order to establish a light, but still realistic and achievable displacement.
The styling, deck and interior layout was done by our own designers. The interior incorporated the already well-known Baltic Yacht double centre berth owner´s cabin. The Baltic 43 also allowed more flexibility in layouts giving clients greater opportunity to customize their yacht.
