Grabau International is delighted to announce the listing of the 2000 Hallberg Rassy 31 Scandinavia ‘TEHIDY’
Beautifully presented 2000-launched example of the acclaimed aft cockpit Hallberg Rassy. In full Scandinavia spec with added advantage of new standing rigging and low friction mainsail track. Less than 5,000Nm covered since new!
FURTHER COMMENTS:
TEHIDY is a very high spec example of the H/R31, benefitting from the ‘Scandinavia’ specification which adds such features as teak decks, pressurised hot & cold water, cabin heating and additional battery capacity. Over and above this specification, TEHIDY benefits from an easily-handled slab-reefing mainsail complete with newly fitted Tides Marine low-friction mainsail track, lazyjacks and stackpack bag. She also benefits from a larger overlapping genoa (as opposed to a standard working jib.
Purchased by her current owners in 2011, TEHIDY has been much loved and polished and has always been based in and around the Solent. With only 4,726Nm covered since launch, she is also very lightly used. Her recent upgrades and improvements include:- • New Brunton Autoprop propeller • New Tides Marine low-friction mast track • New Hyde mainsail • New stackpack and lazyjacks • Recent Garmin GPS plotter in cockpit in addition to existing plotter at chart table
YACHTING PRESS REMARKS:
“Extremely spacious, light and inviting interior. The sailing and sea-going qualities are in a class of its own. Being a cruiser, the speed through water and the angle towards the wind is quite amazing. A modern, safe cruiser that gives its owner great satisfaction.” Quote from the Swedish yachting magazine Båtnytt:
MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:
The Hallberg-Rassy 31 was built 18 years (!) from 1992 – 2009 in 356 units. That is one of the longest production runs in Hallberg-Rassy’s history.
The Hallberg-Rassy 31 is a true Hallberg-Rassy, with the same high level of quality and elegance as her larger sisters.
The interior woodwork and joinery is done in the selected mahogany that has become a Hallberg-Rassy trademark. The interior is extremely well laid out for her size. A full size navigation table, a spacious galley, saloon, large head and shower compartment, and two private staterooms gives you the volume and space that you would normally find on a much larger boat.
The cockpit is comfortable and easily accommodates your guest, and has generous capabilities.
Designed by Germán Frers, the Hallberg-Rassy 31 has excellent sailing characteristics. The boat is well balanced, and gently moves through the water, pointing and going to weather like no other 31 foot performance cruiser of her time age. She is easily single handed, as all lines are lead aft to the cockpit.
DESIGNER’S COMMENTS:
“Sailing with safety and comfort at a good speed are the main characteristics offered by the Hallberg-Rassy 31. This medium displacement modern hull is fitted with efficient keel, rudder and a modern comprehensive fractional rig. The result is a boat, which can cope with all weather conditions safely, and will also give the owner and his family many hours of pleasant sailing.
The interior is exceptionally well laid out giving an air of spaciousness unusual for a boat of this size. There are two separate double cabins, one forward and one aft, also a large toilet aft. With a full size saloon, ample galley and complete chart table, it offers the amenities and comfort of a larger yacht. There is excellent protection from the weather in the aft cockpit. The seats are two metres long. Part of the starboard seat lifts up to give access to a very generous stowage area.
For a yachtsman not interested in the latest racing gimmicks but in a proper 9.5 metre boat with a more than respectable speed, with good cruising attributes, the Hallberg-Rassy 31 will be very hard to beat.” Germán Frers
