Having spent her entire life on the West Coast of Sweden, HELENA has seen only very light use during the short summer seasons, with just 490 hours run on her twin Volvo IPS 600 435hp diesel engines. Outside of the summer season, her fantastic cosmetic condition was preserved by storage in a heated boat shed. As such, HELENA shows little in the way of UV degradation that can be a big factor on Med-based yachts.
Her specification highlights include: • Dark blue hull topsides • Teak cockpit, bathing platform and bow deck areas • Large Volvo 600 IPS 435hp engine option (870hp combined) with just 490hrs run • IPS system for easy handling for easy of handling, improved performance economy, acceleration & emissions. • Secondary joystick control at aft end of cockpit for berthing • Automatic trim-tabs • Windscreen demister with timer • Electric opening hardtop • Electric reclining cockpit sofa converting to a sunbed • White leather upholstery in cockpit • Onan 5KW generator • Inverter • Recently upgraded batteries • Radar and chart plotter • Cockpit galley with ceramic hob, fridge and ice maker • Diesel heating system • Cherry interior joinery • Ceramic hob, microwave and fridge at saloon galley • 2x electric flush marine heads • Master cabin forward with island double berth and ensuite heads • Twin guest cabin, converting to double • Converting saloon table to create further double berth • TV in saloon and in guest cabin • Additional electric stern anchor windlass for kedge anchor • Removable tender chocks for bathing platform
HELENA is a fantastic example of the modern, stylish and hugely capable Fairline Targa 44 GT with a great specification, very low hours run and representing a substantial saving over a comparable new build.
PRESS REVIEWS:
“The Fairline Targa 44’s second generation automatic hardtop is designed to let the good weather in, rather than shield it from the bad. And with the subtle certainty that this brings, the cockpit is designed and fitted out to saloon levels of comfort, ready to be enjoyed morning, noon and all night long. Out on the water, the hull and IPS drives grip the water well, allowing plenty of responsive, clean handling but without getting overly exciting – which is what we have come to expect from IPS boats – with handling falling somewhere between shafts and outdrives.
Verdict: Fairline has created a masterpiece in sports cruiser design. The no-expense spared detail and top-drawer specification slip seamlessly into a boat so smooth, so refined, it feels distilled rather than constructed. A top end product with a price to match, we were expecting more from the IPS, but this is still one hell of a boat.” Article by Nick Burnham and featured in Motor Boat & Yachting October 10th, 2007
