The Grand Soleil 43 is a modern design from the drawing board of Botin & Carkeek. It is an icon, showing Italian style combining excellent performance with unmistakable elegance. The GS ’43 OT (Open Transom) provides the perfect combination of performance and exceptional cruising comfort.
This design is destined to be a key player in important regattas, which has been proven by the former and current owner.
After two seasons of racing named ‘Antilope’, this GS’43 continued winning races under the name of ‘IL CORVO’. Fully crewed she participated in many regattas, mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands. Double handed and short crewed she competed in many RORC events such as Fastnet Race, Middle Sea Race and North Sea Race. Always at a competitive level.
Below the waterline the purpose designed IRC fin keel and carbon rudder, combined with sprayed on antifouling make for a super smooth and fast bottom. Antifouling was renewed yearly and only two years ago she was stripped down to the gel coat.
She was only sailed in European summers. Each winter boat and mast were comfortably stored in a shed. The interior was climatized throughout the year by heater and dehumidifier. Sails were always stored in a humidity controlled store, rolled without battens.

MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:
It is a very exciting period for Cantiere del Pardo, one of the world leaders in the top sector of the performance cruiser market. The company is evolving, but their desire to produce boats with a perfect synthesis between performance and timeless design has certainly not changed.
The Grand Soleil 43 Open Transom is proof of this. This aggressive boat was designed to impress and to win, constructed with the most innovative techniques. The Grand Soleil 43 OT does not hide its ambition to be one of the key figures in regattas, as the first boats to be launched have already shown with their recent victories: Spi Ouest France, Fast net Race, Cowes Week and the North Sea Regatta.
The Grand Soleil 43 OT was also designed by the most successful designers of the last decade, Botin and Carkeek. In this model they have combined performance with exceptional cruising comfort, and the boat is extremely easy to steer in any sea or wind conditions.
In pure “Pardo Style”, the Grand Soleil 43 OT has clean lines, a double wheelhouse and a large open stern, making it particularly convenient for reaching the sea and mooring without difficulty. The sail track is positioned on cockpit floor in order to improve control of the sail and simplify passageways, while the position of the winches is optimized to enable better control of the foresails.
The boat can be personalized with mahogany, teak or oak interiors, and owners can choose between a galley on the side of the boat, or an L-shaped one. The cabins are spacious, light and airy, thanks to two portholes in the master cabin and one in each of the others.
The Grand Soleil 43 OT embodies the Grand Soleil lifestyle, distinguished by a genuine passion for the sea, design, technology and innovation.
