Grabau International is delighted to announce the listing of the 2010-launched Italcraft Sarima 38 ‘PAIKEA’
Launched in 2010 and refitted in 2015, this fully-optioned Sarima 38 is probably the best example afloat with just 430hrs on her twin Volvo D6 310hp diesels.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
Italcraft is a legendary name to what concerns technical aspects of boat design, especially for the hull shapes it has pioneered. The Sarima 38 follows on the success of the first wood built 25 feet series delivered in seven hundred units in the nineteen sixties and seventies, and today being a collectors item. Derived from a hull used in military patrol boat duties, the seaworthiness and performance is second to none.
Laminated at the very end of 2007 as a 2008 model and not launched until 2010, PAIKEA has led a very relaxed life. With over Euro 25k spent by her current owner on a full refit/refurb in 2015, PAIKEA is presented in sparkling condition. Her Volvo D6-310’s are also beautifully maintained with regular servicing carried out.
Fully-optioned from build, PAIKEA boasts a fantastic specification including:- • Diesel generator • Air-conditioning • Electric heads • Two fridges (12/220v) • GPS chart plotter • Autopilot • Bowthruster • Bimini • Tender and outboard
With up to 6 berths in two cabins plus a converting saloon, PAIKEA is the perfect Mediterranean weekender.
MANUFACTURER’S BACKGROUND:
The Italcraft Shipyard, founded by the brothers Sergio and Mario Sonnino Sorisio, started the business in 1955, in an area on the outskirts of Rome, starting to design and build fast speedboats for pleasure boating. In 1958 the activity was transferred to Lake Bracciano. In 1961 the company opened its administrative and commercial offices with an adjoining exhibition hall in Rome.
In 1969 the business expanded into the newly designed construction site in the Gulf of Gaeta (Latina). In December 1978, the shareholders resolved to turn the company into a joint-stock company. The company, with its constant research and experimentation of innovative solutions, has consistently influenced the technological progress of the world boating industry.
Between the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, the crisis hit the recreational boating sector. The shipyard, however, continued to produce new and still current boats thanks to the continuous innovation of the products also under the stylistic aspect. These are the years of the F 38, C 45, C 51, C 58, C 73 models, a complete range of motor yachts with outstanding speed and safety features.
In the middle of the 1990’s the shipyard closed its activity and after a short time it was bought by the Cantieri Navali del Golfo. In 1996, with the acquisition of Italcraft Shipyards, the group’s new strategy is outlined: the Gulf Shipyard will continue the production of the Military and Work Division and Italcraft will produce recreational motor yachts.
In 1997, after having reactivated the production, we continued the sale of the models in line, C58, C45, F38, but we already think about the future with the design and construction of the new SARIMA. In 1998 the new Sarima was launched and the new version of Ipanema 53 was prepared. In the summer of 1999, while the delivery of the X 54 Ipanema model began, we started with the DRAGO ’70 project.
In Italy, few construction sites can boast a tradition that has by far exceeded 50 years of history. A story made of successes, ingenuity and above all of courage but also moments of difficulty and yet always pervaded by the spirit of innovation at all costs!
Italcraft represents a brand that has led the Italian yachting to be one of the European and world landmarks, able to compete on equal terms with the great builders not only on the competition field but also in the ports thanks to the boldness and competence of all those who wanted to believe in a mythical reality that has given so much to those who have been able to live closely as a designer, as an employee and above all as a client!
