In 2012 Fora Marine launched a fantastic 40 foot, the RM 1260, elected European Yacht of the Year 2013. Was it possible to do even better? 4 years later, we think so…., and therefore we are launching the RM1270: • Inverted bow. A wetted hull supporting the planning: performance has been improved again. • New deck layout: safer and more efficient maneuvers. • Revisited interior layout: a better breakdown between the pathways and the rooms, a very innovative design. To these features, we have also added the possibility of a lifting keel. We are proud to present the RM 1270, the most ultimate 40 feet.
MANUFACTURER HISTORY:
Founded by Jean-Claude Oudry in 1989 the RM range of yachts immediately stood out from the normal production yachts. All yachts being built of epoxy impregnated marine plywood with an internal metal structure carrying the loads for the keels and rig. The first model from this new yard was the RM 900. In 1995 the respected racing yacht designer Marc Lombard came on board with the company to deliver the designs for the next generation of RM yachts. This relationship between yard and designer has stood the test of time and the Marc Lombard Design Group have now produced the designs of 8 RM models.
The yard has enjoyed a successful 30 years of production. Winning two European Yacht of the Year awards in the last 5 years for the RM1260 & RM970. With demand continuing to grow the company moved to a new purpose built factory in 2017.
