Ocean Explorer 62 and 72 Build Update

The OQS yard in Jakobstad, Finland, is in full swing as work continues on the latest Ocean Explorer new builds. With two catamarans progressing simultaneously, the teams are fully engaged across all areas, from hull work to interiors, keeping both projects on schedule.

On the new Ocean Explorer 72, the exterior has reached a key milestone as the final coat is now being applied. This step not only completes the hull and superstructure visually but also marks the transition toward the final detailing and outfitting stages. It brings the OE72 catamaran closer to its final condition, reflecting the careful planning and coordination behind the build.

Aboard the new Ocean Explorer 62, while the hulls are being faired, the focus has shifted to interior installation. Structural elements, systems, and key components are being fitted, laying the groundwork for the next phases of interior fitting. This stage is crucial for integrating the technical and living spaces, and it highlights the precision and attention to detail that define the Ocean Explorer builds.

Managing two builds demonstrates the yard’s capacity and expertise, with teams coordinating across multiple disciplines to maintain steady progress.
