Ocean Explorer 62 and 72 – February Build Update

The work continues at the OQS yard in Jakobstad, Finland, as we prepare for the yachting season. February has been a very busy month, with significant progress on both the Ocean Explorer 62 and the Ocean Explorer 72.

For the new Ocean Explorer 72, focus has been on advancing the technical side of the build while bringing the living spaces closer to completion. System installations and testing have been carried out with electronics, engines and generators all performing well. On deck, components are being fitted, including the titanium deck hardware. At the same time, the final interior pieces are being installed, giving a clearer sense of the finished vessel.

For the new Ocean Explorer 62, structural and interior progress have been made this month. The deck has been dry-fitted, confirming alignment and preparing for the next stages of the build. Below deck, the natural oak interior is now being installed, shaping the yacht’s look. Alongside this, onboard systems continue to be installed with the team’s precision as the technical groundwork for the vessel progresses.

With steady progress on both projects, the teams at the OQS yard remain focused on upcoming milestones as we head into the spring season. We look forward to sharing further updates next month.
