Seawork 2019

In mid-June Grabau International’s Alex Grabau and Mark Cameron paid a visit to the Seawork 2019 exhibition in Southampton.

Organised by the National Workboat Association, the Seawork show is a trade-only event held at Mayflower Park in the centre of Southampton (home to the Southampton Boat Show). Now in its 21st year, offers a unique combination of undercover exhibition space, open-air demonstrations and floating displays.

Amongst the impressive aray of ships, tugs and workboats on display, were a number of commercial RIB manufacturers including The Ultimate Boat Company who build their range of innovative and highly robust open and cabin RIBS in Scotland. Taking their newly-launched 2019 Barracuda 750 Commercial for a drive around Southampton Water we were left speechless by the handling, even when thrown into hard turns at 40knots+. The key is in the patented ‘Compression Lift’ hull design, derived from aircraft design. We hope to bring more news from The Ultimate Boat Company and their hugely impressive range of commercial and leisure RIBS in the coming months… watch this space!
