Shogun Yachts launches the new Shogun 69

Shogun Yachts introduces the Shogun 69, a new 69-foot high-performance cruising yacht designed for sailors who want exceptional speed and a direct sailing experience without compromising comfort, range or cruising capability.

With an approximate displacement of just 19 tonnes, full carbon construction and a powerful, efficient sail plan, the Shogun 69 is designed to deliver high average speeds while remaining manageable with a small crew or even double-handed.

Her primary sail plan combines a 160 m² mainsail with a 108 m² self-tacking jib, supported by hydraulic furling systems. A Code 0 and gennaker extend the performance range in lighter conditions, while larger overlapping headsails and running backstays are available for owners seeking additional racing performance.

The Shogun 69 is designed around a simple philosophy: make high performance easy to access. Essential sail controls are concentrated around the helm positions, while the runnerless cruising rig and self-tacking jib reduce workload and complexity.

Performance is matched by cruising versatility. A carbon lifting keel reduces draft from approximately 4.5 to 2.9 metres, opening up significantly more cruising possibilities. Water ballast is also available to increase righting moment and performance without relying on additional crew weight.

Despite its performance focus, the Shogun 69 is designed as a genuine cruising yacht. The layout includes three cabins, two bathrooms and a spacious owner’s cabin, together with a dedicated dinghy garage and opening stern providing a large swim platform.

The yacht is conceived as a semi-custom platform, allowing each owner to determine the balance between fast cruising, offshore capability and racing performance.

The Shogun 69 will be built in Jakobstad, Finland, by OQS, combining full-carbon construction with Finnish boatbuilding expertise.
