Although perhaps not quite as hot or sunny as Cannes, the Southampton Boat Show was just as busy with the pontoons and display halls bustling with visitors from all over Europe across all 10 days of this marathon show. As always Grabau International was there to take a look.
Oyster 675
The latest generation of turbo-powered Oysters complete with twin rudders, powerful rig and sleek superstructure. A definite return to form from this well established British yacht builder and a true delight to behold. Without a doubt one of the stars of the show this year.
X-Yachts X-6
With the X-4 debuting at Cannes, her bigger sister wowed the crowds at Southampton. Jostling for position of ‘belle of the ball’ with the Oyster, this particular example (Hull No.1) boasted absolutely every bell, whistle and flute imaginable. With the larger X8 now well into final development, the ‘X’ range looks set to become extremely popular with those seeking a more performance-orientated luxury blue water solution.
It is impossible not to step aboard one of these fantastic performance cruisers without smiling and generally feeling good about the world. The RM range represents a bold and independent vision in terms of concept, build and styling that just works on every level. With a wood epoxy build and twin performance keels, the RM 1270 has plenty to shout about.
Beneteau Oceanis 41.1
Boasting some very clever design from Finot-Conq and Nauta, the Oceanis 41.1 is the perfect platform to enjoy effortless family cruising. For those seeking the same concept, but a perhaps little larger, Grabau International are delighted to offer a 2015-launched Oceanis 48 through our brokerage.
Dufour 412 Grand Large
An evolution of the award winning 410 Grand Large, this Dufour offers just the right blend of performance, cruising comfort and value. Grabau International are pleased to offer a 2014-launched Dufour 410 Grand Large through our brokerage.
Black Pepper Code 0
Having spent some time aboard the mighty Code 2 in Cannes, it was fantastic to see the achingly pretty Black Pepper Code 0 at Southampton. This carbon-built lift-keel rocket-ship is the ultimate toy and we at Grabau International are already saving hard for one of our own.
Overlapping with the Southampton Show this year was the Genoa Salone Nautico show. Keep posted for the full report from the Vismara Marine stand.
