British & Jersey Registry Specialists

There are many advantages to having your yacht registered on the red flag group of ship registries, it’s often advantageous and desirable for non-UK citizens to want to register their yachts in the UK or in an offshore environment through Jersey. The UK Ship Register (UKSR) – part of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) – is one of the best performing flags in the major Port State Control regimes. It has a reputation for maintaining the highest international standards and is instantly recognisable worldwide allowing your yacht to be able to fly the prestigious British red ensign. Likewise the Jersey registry maintains the same exacting standards of the UK’s but can offer all of these advantages through a secure offshore territory. diYachting provides services available to both UK Citizens and non-UK owners wanting to register on Part 1 of the British registry or on the Jersey registry.

Tonnage Surveys

A Tonnage Survey is an essential part of the registration process, it must be carried out by an approved surveyor who will visit the yacht to take a specific set of measurements, check the engine and HIN numbers and then produce a Tonnage certificate. Along with their partner Surveyor, diYachting can carry out all of this process, visiting the yacht anywhere in Europe to do this one day survey and then organise the Tonnage certificate. diYachting’s registration fee Includes this survey, certificate fee, a tonnage board, travel and accommodation costs for the survey visit.

UK Representative

In order to register on the British or Jersey registry of shipping you must meet certain criteria and the owner or owning company must be resident in the UK. If you are not resident in the UK you must appoint a UK representative. diYachting is incorporated in the UK with their principal place of business in the UK plus both directors are UK nationals, citizens and residents so are perfectly placed to be your representative.
